Student Activities

Student Activities

  1. Bright Lights Program Tour
From Lincoln schools visite the UNL-NaBRO structures Laboratory yearly and are given a tour of the lab by NaBRO Director, Dr. Atorod Azizinamini and NaBRO Research Engineer, Aaron Yakel.

  2. NaBRO Summer Internship Program 1999
NaBRO sponsored two UNL Civil Engineering interns (Nathan Dickerson and John Swendroski) during the 1999 Summer Internship Program. During the twelve week summer period, these two students worked under the guidance of NaBRO's faculty and graduate students on bridge related research projects.

  3. Summer Trip to Chicago, IL
The graduate students and faculty of NaBRO attended the 1998 World Steel Bridge Conference in Chicago, IL on September 2-4, 1998.

  4. Seminar for Student Recruitment
In February 1998, the Civil Engineering Department at UNL sponsored a undergraduate student seminar for the recruitment of graduate students to attend Graduate School in Civil Engineering. The event was co-sponsored by NaBRO, MATC and the student organizations of ASCE and Chi Epsilon. The faculty of NaBRO presented information which included a poster presentation outlining the Civil Engineering area of Structures.

  5. Undergraduate Student Awards
NaBRO awarded travel fellowships to six senior undergraduate students to attend the conference "Recent Advances in Steel Bridge Design and Construction with Emphasis on High Performance Steel" in Kansas City, MO on November 4-5, 1999.
