Maher Tadros came to Nebraska in 1979 from West Virginia
University. He worked in a consulting office in Calgary before
that from 1975-1977. Tadros is a member of the American Society
of Civil Engineering, National Society of Professional Engineeers,
and the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute.
Dr. Tadros has been a designer, researcher and instructor
of prestressed concrete for over 30 years. He has been involved
in the design of numerous structures including storage tanks,
buildings and bridges. in the U.S, Canada and overseas. He
has authored a report on "Spliced Girder Bridges" for the
Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) publication which
became an official PCI document in 1992. He is the Principal
Author of the PCI Bridge Design Manual published in 1997 (Part
I) and 1998 (Part II). He has teamed with numerous engineers
and agencies to design special bridges, including the Nebraska
Department of Roads, Colorado Department of Highways, Minnesota
Department of Transportation, American Engineering Company
in Kentucky, LEAP Associates in Florida, Tudor/Parsons Brinckerhoff
in Georgia, and Harrington & Courtelyou in Kansas City, Missouri.
Developed computer programs which are used nationwide in design
of segmental and composite bridges.
