Regional Director for Construction Services
National Steel Bridge Alliance
Mike Beacham is the Midwest Regional Director for Construction
Services with the National Steel Bridge Alliance (NSBA). Prior
to his current position, Beacham held the position of Bridge
Research and Development Engineer for the Nebraska Department
of Roads (NDOR) Bridge Division for eight years. At NDOR,
Beacham was responsible for coordinating, organizing and managing
resources for the initiation and implementation of research
projects.
Beacham's career began in 1977 as a bridge construction inspector
for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans),
while attending the University of California at Berkeley.
He worked for Caltrans Structures Construction until 1989.
Beacham then accepted a Senior Bridge Engineer position with
the City of San Diego, where he was responsible for the city's
bridge construction program. Beacham also serves as a member
on the Transportation Research Board's Committee A2C01 "General
Structures and A2C02" Steel Bridges. Beacham is a registered
professional engineer in Nebraska and California.
